GRADUATE COURSEWORK

INDEPENDENT STUDY (FALL 2021)
As part of an independent study in the fall semester of the 2021-2022 school year, I constructed a half-scale replica of an eighteenth-century candle box in Winterthur's collection. The mahogany box has dovetail joints and a sliding lid, and was made using traditional
hand tools. It was given a linseed oil and beeswax finish.

INDEPENDENT STUDY (SPRING 2022)
As part of an independent study in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 school year, I scanned the over sixty extant pieces of an eleven-foot zinc statue with an Artec Eva 3D scanner. I then pieced together the virtual fragments using the program Blender.

RESEARCH PROJECT
I am preparing a research project on subcritical cracking—that is, slow growing cracks that occur at stresses far below those required to cause brittle failure—in limestone under ambient environmental conditions. The study will be carried out during the spring semester of the 2021/2022 school year.
